Contextualizing Menstruation at University Campuses in Hawai`i
 Informed Consent

Welcome! The Maʻi Movement Hawaiʻi is inviting you to participate in a research study for individuals like you who spend time on college and university campuses in Hawaiʻi. For this study, individuals who menstruate are invited to share their lived experiences with regard to the accessibility of menstrual products and its impact, meeting other basic needs, and overall well-being. This study is being conducted by The Maʻi Movement Hawaiʻi in partnership with Dr. Jhumka Gupta at George Mason University.

What is the purpose of this survey?
We want to understand the experiences of students at academic institutions in Hawaiʻi in regard to accessibility to menstrual products and how this may impact your lives. This survey will allow us to advocate for future legislation in the provision of free menstrual products on campuses in Hawaiʻi.

What will I do?
You will be asked questions related to your background, well-being, and experience meeting your basic needs (e.g., menstrual products, food, housing). The survey will take approximately 15 minutes.

Benefits
There are no direct benefits to participating. We believe that your participation will help us advocate for future legislation in the provision of free menstrual products on campuses in Hawai’i.
